This is the first drawing that I attempted while lying in my bed at Providence Center St. Pat's Hospital after my Wallenberg Stroke of Independence Day 2012. I was filled with fear as I grasped the pencil and put it to paper. Suffering from nystagmus (quivering eyes) and double vision due to extensive nerve damage. I was uncertain if I would be able to draw representationally again. The drawing symbolizes a physical reminder of my long recovery, learning to walk again and all that came with overcoming traumatic brain damage.
